Woman Pulled from Niagara River in Niagara Falls, Ontario
News

NIAGARA FALLS, ONTARIO -- A 22-year-old Niagara Falls woman was rescued late Tuesday night from water near the Canadian power station.

Police say the woman climbed a retaining wall on the Ontario side of the river, and fell 20 feet into the water below.

It happened right before midnight, in an area called the Hydro fore bay.

A couple walking across a nearby bridge noticed the woman in the water and called 911.

Upon arrival at the scene, Niagara Parks Police officers were able to throw the woman a life jacket to put on, and threw her a car seat to float on.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital, treated, and released.  Police are not giving out her name.

Investigators do say alcohol played a role in the incident.
