Woman Wins Car in WNY Ford Dealers Fiesta de Mayo

BUFFALO, NY – Earlier today, Rita Layer of Lockport unwrapped the key to a brand-new 2011 Ford Fiesta, courtesy of the Western New York Ford Dealers. Contestants numbered one to 98 lined the halls of Boulevard Mall Thursday for the “Fiesta de Mayo” contest hosted by Kiss 98.5. One-by-one contestants each selected a burrito and anxiously waited for the signal to unwrap it. Mrs. Layer was lucky number 47 and found a car key tucked into the tortilla, winning her the grand prize.

“I’ve never owned a brand new car!” said Layer. “Thanks to the Western New York Ford Dealers, I’m driving away with a great Cinco de Mayo, Mother’s Day and birthday gift. I can’t wait to go for a drive in my new Ford Fiesta.”

32 wheels! - The World's Biggest Airplane, the Russian Antonov 225. Attached pictures are of the Russian Monster when it landed.

While they were loading the helicopters, the Russian pilots (two crews), went into town to buy cigarettes by the case and Levis jeans.

It is amazing something this huge can stay in the air. The Wright brothers would never have dreamed it.

Power to the People, Tesla's Current Reaches Buffalo

Power to the People, Tesla's Current Reaches Buffalo

RUN BY FALLS POWER - Street Cars Operated By New Current - Nov. 19 1896

The cars of the Buffalo Railway Company began yesterday to move by water-power. The mighty energy of Niagara Falls, harnessed to turbine wheels, and transmitted over copper wires to Buffalo, supplied the force that turned the wheels of traffic and brought nickels to the coffers of the street car company. The success of the transmission of the power was completely and fully demonstrated.

There has not been at any time since the first dynamo began to revolve at the Falls, any doubt that the energy could be brought successfully to Buffalo. Never-the-less, the experiment was the greatest ever attempted in conveying such a volume of power to such a distance, and cautious people waited until yesterday, when the first practical application of the power in Buffalo was made, before crowing too much over the new force that is to revolutionize business and bring mills and factories and people to the Electric City.
