Bank Robbery Suspect Sought in Newfane | News

NEWFANE, NY -- The Niagara County Sheriff's Office is turning to the public to help identify a bank robbery suspect.
The robbery happened at the Bank of America branch on Main Street in Newfane just after 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Investigators say the suspect left on foot northeast towards a nearby church.
Sheriff's Office officials posted a description of the suspect on their Facebook page. The suspect is described as a black male, 30-35 years old, about 5'5" tall and wearing a black coat. The suspect also had white tape on his right eye.
Niagara County dispatcher told 2 On Your Side Newfane schools were in "lock out" mode while police searched for the suspect, which meant no one was allowed entry into the schools without proper authorization.
