NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. -- A Niagara Falls man is facing charges after he assaulted and robbed a tourist.

New York State Park Police say Robert Macleod, 44, from Niagara Falls was arrested for robbing and assaulting a tourist on Christmas night.

The victim was hit several times in the head and body. She was treated and released for her injuries at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.

Macleod is facing assault and robbery charges. He was arraigned Thursday morning and is being held on $25,000 bail.
