Riverside Workers Snowflake Bazaar

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. -- The Riverside Presbyterian Church will be hosting the annual Riverside Worker's Snowflake Bazaar this month.

The event will feature hand-crafted gifts for the holidays, decor for the home, treasures from the attic and garage and home-made desserts.

There will also be home-made soups available from 11am to 1pm both days, and a Chiavetta's barbeque chicken dinner served from 5-7pm on Friday. Desserts and baked good will be available at any time, both days.

The event will take place on Friday, November 5 from 10am to 7pm and Saturday, November 6 from 10am to 2pm.

The Riverside Presbyterian Church is located at 815-84 Street in Niagara Falls.

Pet Connection Plans November Community Events

November is shaping up to be a very busy month for the volunteers of Pet Connection Programs Inc., a maternity and special care animal shelter located in Marilla.

On Friday, November 5, volunteers and puppies will visit one of Buffalo’s most historically significant buildings — the Larkin at Exchange Building — from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Spirit of Children Program Brings Halloween Party to Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo

Spirit Halloween Volunteers put on their costumes and brought Halloween cheer to the patients and families of Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo this past Tuesday, October 19. Pumpkin painting, costume parades, Halloween games and crafts offer a temporary escape for the young patients.

The Spirit of Children program was launched in 2006 and is dedicated to bringing fun and funding to Hospital Child Life Departments during the Halloween season and all year long. Volunteer Spirit Halloween employees bring Halloween celebrations to the hospitals so kids can enjoy the holiday. Since its inception, Spirit of Children has raised more than $14,000 for the Women & Children's Hospital of Buffalo to date.

Annette and Colin McMahon Chair the 2010 Festival of Trees

Annette and Colin McMahon, MD, chairpersons of the Festival of Trees, are preparing for the open of the 33rd holiday season event benefiting Women & Children’s Hospital which starts November 19 and runs until December 3 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel located at 2 Fountain Plaza, Buffalo 14202. It will be open 24 hours each of these days for people to come and experience the Glittering Wonderland of elegance and charm.

Nine Olympic and X-Game Athletes Come to Buffalo-Niagara

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. -- Snow Ski and Board, in a joint venture with local ski resorts, is bringing nine of the world’s top extreme athletes to Buffalo/Niagara. Athletes will be signing autographs and spending time with fans at the Ski Company’s first annual Buffalo/Niagara Sale, October 22 – 23, at the Conference Center Niagara Falls.
