Events

The speaker’s event hosted by the First Presbyterian Church and Kenan Center in Lockport featuring noted social and faith leader, Sister Joan Chittister, for Saturday, September 23, has been cancelled due to illness. Rev. Jim Hardy, pastor of the First Presbyterian, learned early Monday that, due to health concerns, Sister Joan has been advised to cancel her engagements for the next several months. Elaine Harrigan, Marketing Communications Manager for the Kenan Center, reports that “Sister Joan is extremely saddened that she is unable to appear for her planned talk, and is sincerely hoping to reschedule for a date before the end of the year, depending on her health status.”

Sister Joan Chittister is a member of the Benedictine Sisters of Erie, PA. She is the author of more than 50 books and articles, and is a noted international lecturer and advocate on behalf of peace, human rights, women’s issues, and church renewal. Information regarding a future date will be posted on the Kenan Center website at kenancenter.org.
