Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers Market Lists May 31 Highlights

The popular Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers Market, featuring nearly 40 vendors selling fresh, seasonal and local produce and products, continues its 15th season on May 31. A program of the Elmwood Village Association, the market is held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays, rain or shine, through Nov. 29.

Providing musical entertainment on May 31 (weather permitting) will be violinist David Adamczyk from 9:30 to 11 a.m., followed by the Nickel City String Band from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The market also welcomes two community groups this Saturday, including the Bark Park at Black Rock Canal Park and pediatric dentist Ryan Colosi.

New vendors for 2014 include Biscotti for Everybotti, BreadHive Worker Cooperative Bakery and Kwilos Farm. Offering wine tastings at the market this week will be 21 Brix Winery.

The Electronic Benefit Transfer system is once again in place at the market for the 2014 season. EBT incentive programs are often offered throughout the season; please inquire at the EBT table for more information. Elmwood-Bidwell’s EBT program is made possible thanks to generous grants from the Erie-Niagara Tobacco-Free Coalition, Wellness Institute of Greater Buffalo and the Lexington Co-operative Market. Additionally, the market is once again partnering with the Erie-Niagara Tobacco-Free Coalition to promote a smoke-free environment.

Please note that the market will be set up on the east side of Elmwood Avenue for at least two months. This is directly across the street from the market's usual location.
