Family and friends of a Niagara University graduate continue to honor his memory after he was killed in the line of duty in Afghanistan. 

According to the Department of Defense, Pfc. Theodore M. Glende, 23, of Rochester, died July 27 in Kharwar, Logar province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with small-arms fire. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team in Vicenza, Italy. 

To keep his memory alive, Glende’s loved ones are taking orders for Glende Commemorative Clothing through Sunday, with proceeds going to Wounded Warrior Project, which assists injured soldiers and their families.

Short-sleeved T-shirts are available in blue, maroon or tan, and sizes and prices include:

  • Men’s and women’s: $18 for small, medium, large and extra large and $20 for 2X and 3X.
  • Children’s: $12 for extra small and small and $15 for medium, large and extra large.

Long-sleeve T-shirts are available in blue and maroon for $25 for small to extra large sizes and $30 for 2X and 3X.
