A Special Gift in Buffalo for Observance of International Women's Day

In observance of International Women's Day, Leslie Jean of American Style Tribal Bellydance, Euhpraxia - created a series of images, to feature on her Instagram account.

This ongoing project honors women whom she has been inspired by, taught by, loved by and loved in return, mentored by, motivated by,  and humbled by.

You can view the entire album starting HERE on Facebook.

Thank you Leslie for showing the rest of us how to be grateful for the immense artistic and diverse community that is Buffalo, Western New York and our world.

Other ways to support women around the world throughout the year include:

  • Use #PledgeForParity #InternationalWomensDay and #IWD2016 in social media throughout the year, not just on March 8th, when the actual day is celebrated.
  • Mentor girls. If you have daughters, get them involved.
  • Mentor women at your workplace.
  • Support women by being there for them in times of need.
  • Speak out against injustice and violence against women everywhere.
  • Heal yourself and share your story.
  • Volunteer with women in other countries to understand global women's issues better.
  • Recognize that women have more in common than differences.
  • Embrace the diversity and rich beauty of our global sisterhood.
  • Start your own Sister Circle.
  • Join a global sisterhood movement.
  • Partner with other women's groups who "get it" and know that we must do this together to be successful.
  • Encourage men to support sisterhood and gender equality.
  • Accept that change can take time while acknowledging the bursts of positive social change and expanding consciousness about gender and humanity, in general.
