Kenan Center Taking Applications for Summer Paid Internships

Kenan Center Taking Applications for Summer Paid Internships

College students and those entering college this fall who are Niagara County residents have a prime opportunity to gain valuable on-the-job experience while also learning every facet of how a non-profit organization serves the community and earning a paycheck this summer! Through the Grigg-lewis Workership Program, the Kenan Center will be hiring two summer interns, one as a general administrative assistant and one as a marketing assistant. Both jobs require strong computer skills, and an academic focus on marketing, advertising, journalism, or communications is valuable for anyone interested in the position of marketing assistant.

Interns take part in a diverse number of activities and tasks including assisting with the 100 American Craftsmen show, the Center's largest fundraiser which involves more than 300 volunteers. Interns also handle customer service, data entry, preparing reports, and special assignments related to their job roles.

Former NFL Player Bo Eason Comes to Lockport Tomorrow

Called “One of the most powerful plays of the decade,” by The New York Times, RUNT OF THE LITTER, performed and written by former Houston Oilers safety, Bo Eason, comes to the Kenan Center Taylor Theater on March 8, 7:00 p.m. The performance, which contains adult language and themes, is geared to ages 13 and up. Tickets are $10 with a $1.00 discount for seniors and members.

RUNT OF THE LITTER opens when Eason’s character, Jack Henry, is within an hour of realizing his lifelong dream, and only one thing stands in his way--his brother. RUNT OF THE LITTER looks at what happens to two brothers in a family of over-achievers: when their parents assure their oldest son he is destined for football superstardom, and tell their youngest son he is too small to compete, a line in the family sand is drawn that colors the rest of their lives.

Tiny Puppets to Entertain Your Toddlers!

Tiny Puppets to Entertain Your Toddlers!

LOCKPORT, N.Y. - There's an actress and puppeteer who thinks toddlers are a terrific audience! Isabelle Payant with Théâtre des Petites Âmes from Montreal, creates delightful tales with her small puppets, and will bring her original performance, PEKKA, to the Kenan Center Taylor Theater in Lockport on Thursday, March 3 through Saturday, March 5 at 10:30 a.m. The performance is designed especially for children ages two to five.

PEKKA is the story of a tiny turtle who goes in search of the moon which inspires her bedtime stories. With her small puppets and ordinary objects, Payant creates micro universes in which imagination and reality come together in an intimate setting.
