Artpark Brings the Spirit of Brazil to Its Stage

Artpark Brings the Spirit of Brazil to Its Stage

Lewiston, NY – Baila Brazil, a colorful celebration of Afro-Brazilian culture, has sold out the Sydney Opera House, London’s Royal Festival Hall and the Casino de Paris. This month, the show makes its exclusive North American premiere right here in Western New York. The Balé de Rua dance troupe will electrify Artpark’s Mainstage Theater in Lewiston from July 14 to 17 for four energetic and culturally immersive performances.

Balé de Rua was established by Fernando Narduchi and Marco Antônio Garcia in Uberlândia, Brazil. The backdrop was the ’80s in a city brimming with culture, and young people were finally feeling free to explore and honor their heritage. The two artists sought to capture and express the style, rhythm and soulfulness of the urban dance groups that were multiplying in the streets of Brazil’s biggest cities.
