Visions of Lockport

The Erie Canal Discovery Center at 24 Church Street is pleased to offer a free public program and book signing on Saturday, April 28 at 11 a.m. entitled, “Visions of Lockport: A Century in the Blink of an Eye.”  The guest presenter for this program is local historian, Craig Bacon, who will offer insights from the photo-journal of the same name which he compiled in 2010.  This Old Home Week Centennial Publication contains about 100 sepia and color photographs taken around the Lockport area from 1910-2010.  Many of the photos in this pictorial publication were previously unpublished and tell the story of Lockport from some of its earliest times up through the 20th century.

Craig Bacon is a Deputy Niagara County Historian and also serves as a guest services specialist for the Erie Canal Discovery Center and Niagara County History Center. He is also a featured columnist for local newspapers.  When he is not working, Bacon enjoys relaxing in Lockport with his wife and daughters. “Visions of Lockport” is available at the Discovery Center, 24 Church Street, and the cost is $15. Bacon will be on hand at 11 a.m. on April 28 at the Discovery Center.
