Mount St. Mary's Hospital To Hold First "CardioCraze"

Mount St. Mary’s Hospital will conduct its first “CardioCraze” on Saturday, September 18 from 8 am – 11 am at Academy Park in the Village of Lewiston.

Designed around a wellness walk that will incorporate Artpark, the neighborhood streets of the Village, and Center Street, the event is a fundraiser for the Cardiology Department at Mount St. Mary’s.

The day will open with registration at 8 a.m. and the walk beginning at 9 a.m.  Walkers will proceed south and west from Academy Park through Artpark, S. 2nd Street, Center Street, and returning to the Park.  The route covers approximately 2.8 miles.  Walkers have been soliciting sponsors for their efforts but there is no charge to participate in the walk.

Morning refreshments will be provided courtesy of Tim Hortons and tee shirts will be given to walkers who raise specific levels of money.

“We have designed this as a family event that will place a focus on heart healthy events and information,” said Mount St. Mary’s President and CEO Judith A. Maness, FACHE.  “There is a full morning of activity planned.”

In addition to the refreshments, there will be inflatable slides and a bounce house for the children to enjoy and food and refreshments will follow the walk courtesy of various businesses and vendors.

Sponsors include:  Catholic Health Home Care Services; Preferred Home Care, LLC; Sevenson Environmental, Niagara Falls Alumni Hockey; Phillips Lytle, LLP; Judith Maness; Buffalo Ergonomics & Rehabilitation Services, Pepsi, Hilltop Technologies, Tim Hortons, and Biosite. Special thanks to the Village of Lewiston and Artpark for their cooperation.
