NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. -- Three Niagara Falls Memorial Medical employees have been appointed to new management positions effective today.  Their assignments were announced by Vice President & Chief Nursing Officer Joanne Krolewski, R.N., B.S.N.

Elizabeth Stom has been promoted to Director of Rehabilitation Services, with overall responsibility for services at Memorial’s downtown campus and the Summit Healthplex,

A licensed physical therapist, Ms. Stom holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from D’Youville College, where she received the President’s Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement.  She has extensive experience in both acute and long-term rehabilitation care and has served as rehabilitation coordinator at the medical center’s Schoellkopf Health Center since 2004.

Tony Surace has been promoted to Director of Sports Medicine and Summit Healthplex Rehab Services Manager.  Surace, a certified athletic trainer who holds a master’s degree in education, has been employed at Memorial as manager of athletic training and sports medicine since 2005.  He is an adjunct professor at Daemen College and Niagara County Community College.

His new role will include day-to-day oversight of the Rehab Services program at the Summit Healthplex. 

Linda Curtis has been promoted to Cardiology Services Manager.  In this new role, Ms. Curtis will be responsible for clinical and administrative oversight of cardiology services at the medical center and The Heart Center of Niagara.

Ms. Curtis holds degrees in health science, respiratory therapy, and physical education and has been the medical center’s Heart Center coordinator since 2007. She also has previous experience as a cardiopulmonary services manager and respiratory care practitioner.
